🚀 Create server on Sparked HostHow to Use the Enchantment Reference Table
Use the search to find an enchantment by name, or the category filters (Weapons, Tools, Bow, Armor, Boots, Trident, Crossbow, Fishing, Universal, Curse) to see only what applies to the type of item you want to enchant. The "Incompatible" column shows which enchantments cannot coexist on the same item — usually because they achieve the same purpose in different ways (such as the three damage variations or the four Protections).
Rarity affects the chance of appearing on the enchanting table and the cost to combine on an anvil: Common enchantments are easy to get and cheap to combine, while Very rare ones require more luck and XP.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many enchantments are there in Minecraft?
Minecraft has around 40 different enchantments, most of which are available in both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, with very few edition-exclusive exceptions.
Which enchantments are incompatible with each other?
Enchantments from the same group (such as Sharpness, Smite, and Bane of Arthropods, or the four Protections) are mutually exclusive — you can only have one from each group on the same item at a time.
What are curse enchantments?
Curse of Vanishing and Curse of Binding are negative enchantments: they cause the item to disappear upon death or prevent you from removing it from an armor slot. They cannot be obtained from the enchanting table, only via fishing or loot.
