How to use the Mob Drops Table

Use the search to find a specific mob or item, the dimension and category filters (Hostile, Neutral, Passive, Boss) to narrow down the list, and the Looting selector to see how the quantity of drops marked with +L changes at each enchantment level.

Items tagged with "rare" have a fixed drop chance, regardless of Looting — these are usually the most valuable items from each mob, such as a skeleton's bow or a music disc from a creeper killed by a skeleton.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Looting affect all mob drops in Minecraft?

No. Looting only increases the quantity of common drops marked as affected by it. Rare items, such as iron from zombies or music discs from creepers, have a fixed chance regardless of the Looting level.

Does every mob drop XP on death in Minecraft?

Most do, but only if the death was caused (directly or indirectly) by the player. Automated deaths, such as drowning in lava or falling into the void, do not generate XP.

Which mobs only exist in one edition of Minecraft?

The Warden was originally exclusive to Java Edition (with ports to Bedrock in more recent versions), and some specific drops, such as the Drowned trident, also have edition-specific quirks.
